Welcome to the Morgan Hill Meat Grinder

We are THRILLED to announce that as of 2022 the MHMG 50m is a UTMB Qualifier! 3 points!

The race will be held mostly within the Morgan Hill State Forest traversing the Finger Lakes Trail and starting/finishing at Toggenburg Mountain parking lot.

This event will host 3 different race distances, a 50 mile, a marathon and a half marathon. The race course is a very challenging course that covers many different style terrains ranging from road, to technical single track, stone road, dirt forest road, mud and stream crossings

The race is held in late September, which means that the temperatures could warm, could cool, could be humid... who knows. Last year's forecast had it starting in the 60's and getting into the 80's, however there is PLENTY of shade on this course. When registering for this race you must keep in mind the time of year and the potential for tough trail conditions whether it be the heat of rain and very muddy conditions.

***BEFORE you consider registering for this event you must be prepared to run on technical single track trail and have the appropriate footwear. There will be sections that have the potential for serious danger if a runner is not paying attention. When you register for the event you agree to release Salt City Trail Running and all of it's affiliates of any liability. This is a trail event, and that comes with the potential for injury. You need to be physically fit enough to traverse such difficult terrain and make it to the next aid station or back to the previous one for any type of medical attention so keep this in mind. ***

This race is a barebones race in order to try and keep race registration fee's down which means no finishers medal. A portion of your registration fees will be donated to the Finger Lakes Trail Conference. There will of course be swag with registration but it will be limited.
